KNDRD is an inner-city studio offering group mindfulness meditation classes, led by certified teachers. We exist to provide a safe and supportive environment that fosters inner work and the cultivation of self-awareness, understanding and compassion. We aim to make meditation accessible, to help people live more mindfully and to foster a sense of community among our members.
When you picture the kind of people who open a Meditation Studio, I doubt you’d imagine us. A newly married couple from the radio business who spend most of their days in a loud, fast paced environment spreading the gospel of Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift.
But alas, here we are. Proof that meditation isn’t just for the barefooted.
It was the craziness of our lives and careers that drew us to mindfulness meditation. Our first experience, like many of you, was simply through an app on our phones.
We’re certainly not meditation experts. We’re just two normal people on a journey to living a life that’s more deeply rooted in the things we care about. Things like compassion, authenticity and gratitude. Mindfulness practice has been something that has helped us immensely through sessions of change and turmoil, and after getting married we decided that we wanted to create a space for people to come along on the journey with us. That way we can all learn and grow together.
Therein lies the power of KNDRD. The word ‘kindred’ not only has the word ‘kind’ in it, but it also invokes a feeling of togetherness and kinship which is a huge part of what we envision for this community. The experience of reflecting and meditating together, in a world that so often separates and divides.
We are so grateful that you’ve taken the time to get to know us, and look forward to welcoming you into the studio soon

Jossy makes the best guacamole we have ever tasted. It is just one of many things we love about her and we are so grateful for the important role she has taken in setting up the foundations of KNDRD.
Jossy is an experienced wellbeing consultant and mindfulness facilitator. She has a Masters in Human Development, and certifications in mindfulness facilitation (TMF) and mindfulness awareness practices (MAPs) from UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behaviour, where she studied under leading neuroscientists, clinicians, medical researchers, and experts in contemplative traditions. She also has a specialised certification in mindfulness facilitation for children and teens from Mindful Schools. She is currently a Teacher-in-Training in the Mindful Self-Compassion program, having completed teacher training with the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion at UCSD.
In addition, she has completed Stanford’s Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) program, and UCSD's Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program.
Oh and if you’re lucky enough to do a class with Jossy, make sure you ask her about the guacamole….
